Minister McEntee became the first woman to have a baby while serving at Cabinet when she gave birth to her son Michael in April 2021.
She was praised for taking six months' maternity leave at that time as there is no legal framework to allow office holders to take leave.
Minister McEntee remained a member of Cabinet during those six months but without portfolio.
Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys was assigned the responsibility for the Department of Justice until Minister McEntee returned to work in November 2021.
