Fast food, British, Indian, Chinese, Italian and Mexican - we all have our favourite type of takeaway cuisine.
But what type of food is the most popular across the North East and the UK as a whole? To find out, Just Eat carried out a 'sentiment analysis' using restaurant reviews to create a popularity scoring system, ranked out of 100.
The study broke the results down into seven cuisine categories - Fast Food which included the likes of burgers, chips and chicken wings; British; Indian; Chinese; Italian; Mexican; and Japanese.

In Newcastle, Northumberland and Sunderland, it was Italian cuisine which came out on top. Meanwhile in Gateshead and South Tyneside, Indian food scored highest. In North Tyneside it was Chinese and in County Durham the fast food category including burgers was the top preference.
Overall, Italian cuisine came out in the region with positive comments achieving an average sentiment score of 73.57 out of 100. The most popular individual dish across the North East is a Yorkshire pudding s coring 90.4, followed by pasta at 88.5.
While Newcastle preferred Italian cuisine, the most popular dish in the city was Rib Eye Steak - achieving a perfect sentiment score of 100, 20% higher than classic Italian dishes such as lasagne at 83.6%.
North Tyneside residents clearly have a sweet tooth, as trifle is revealed as the most popular dish across the district with another perfect score of 100, beating the chow mein by just 2% (98.10./100).
As for the least popular, perhaps surprisingly Chinese was ranked least favourite in four areas - Sunderland, Northumberland, Gateshead and County Durham.
In South Tyneside it was Mexican and in North Tyneside it was British cuisine, the same as Newcastle.

In the UK, with the highest average score of 60.37 out of a possible 100, Italian cuisine proved to be the most popular food choice in the UK.
The country still retains its love of curries with Indian food revealed as the second most popular (59.14).
Fast food was the third most popular food choice scoring 58.64 with burgers being the fast-food favourite, achieving a popularity score of 60.38 out of 100.
