Both United and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old, who fuelled speculation of a move to the Premier League when attending the Manchester derby FA Cup final earlier this month.
Ten Hag was keen to bring the defender to Old Trafford last summer but instead reunited with Lisandro Martinez, who played a significant role in what was a positive season.
Harry Maguire is a target for Tottenham, with an initial loan deal a viable option for Spurs given the England international’s £190,000-a-week wages.
Virgil van Dijk, meanwhile, has already given his seal of approval when the Liverpool star suggested Timber was at a more advanced at the age of 21 than himself.
Asked about his future by Vandaag Inside, Timber replied: “Will I stay with Ajax anyway? I’m not sure, I can’t stay that.
“I’m not in talks with Ajax now. My agent had a good talk a few times, but it’s not like we’re talking about anything right now.”
