A male potential juror recently caught the attention of former President Donald Trump during jury selection as he mentioned having read some of Trump's books. The juror specifically named 'Art of the Deal' and attempted to recall two other titles, with Trump nodding along as he listed them off.
During the selection process, the juror expressed concern about discussing the case with his wife. In response, Judge Juan Merchan advised him that he could inform his wife that he was serving on a jury without disclosing any details about the case itself.
Despite the potential challenge of not discussing the case with his wife, the juror indicated his willingness to comply with the judge's instructions. When asked by Merchan if he could refrain from discussing the case, the juror affirmed that he could do so.
Additionally, the juror mentioned a possible scheduling conflict due to the upcoming Passover holiday, which was set to begin the following Monday. This raised a consideration for the court in terms of managing the juror's availability during the trial.
