Jurgen Klopp will not talk to Mohamed Salah and his agent amid Liverpool contract standoff

Jurgen Klopp claimed there is absolutely “no chance” Mohamed Salah will allow his contract dispute to disrupt Liverpool ’s bid to win a glorious quadruple this season.

The Reds boss insisted talks with Salah are ongoing and “how they should be” with the 29-year-old Egyptian superstar, despite apparent suggestions from the player’s agent to the contrary before last weekend. The Merseyside club are in an unprecedented position, even in their illustrious history, as they still chase a quadruple deep into the month of March. Yet the turmoil which is surrounding Salah’s negotiations over a new deal at Anfield threatens to overshadow that.

Ask though, whether he would need to speak to the player and his agent, to stress the need for harmony within the squad at such an important time, Klopp replied with typical candour: “No, I don’t have to remind any player and for sure not Mo of that. No chance.
