Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may want to opt for the 'arm around the shoulder' approach when he tackles Darwin Nunez's Monday night misconduct with the forward.
Anfield's newest recruit had a night to forget against Crystal Palace after the former Benfica man spurned a number of clear-cut chances both while the scores were still level and then when Liverpool were trailing. Things got worse in the second half when Nunez was shown a straight red card for a foolish headbutt on Eagles defender Joachim Andersen.
Though he was undeniably provoked by the Palace centre-back, Nunez responded in a way that let both his teammates and himself down. The Uruguay international tried desperately to protest his innocence, but replays showed referee Paul Tierney's original straight red card decision was the correct one.
