Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refused to make excuses after his team dropped more Premier League points with a comprehensive defeat away to Wolves.
The Reds found themselves 2-0 down inside 15 minutes, thanks to a Joel Matip own goal and a first Wolves goal for Craig Dawson. Klopp's team tried in vain to find a way back into the game, only for Ruben Neves to make the points safe for the hosts 20 minutes from time.
Liverpool have now lost three away league games in a row, conceding three goals each time. The defeat at Molineux left them 10 points adrift of the Champions League spots ahead of fourth-place Newcastle taking on West Ham in the evening game.
"Obviously it was a horrible start," Klopp told Premier League productions. "Two goals which cannot happen like that. But it happened and we were 2-0 down because of our own fault.
"We should have defended better. We were passive in that period. I cannot explain it. There is no excuse for it.
"You're 2-0 down, the crowd is there but it opens up and we get some control. Then for about 45 minutes we play a good away game without scoring. That sums it up pretty much."

Klopp admitted his team didn't deserve anything after the way they started the game. The result follows a 3-1 loss at Brentford and a 3-0 reverse at Brighton, who also eliminated the FA Cup holders from that competition thanks to a late winner from in-form Kaoru Mitoma.
Next up for Klopp's team is a home Merseyside derby against Everton. The reverse fixture ended all-square at Goodison Park in September, but Everton have enjoyed a new manager boost after the appointment of Sean Dyche as manager, beating Arsenal 1-0.
"We have to change it immediately in the next game," Klopp said.. " Everton won today and they are in a good moment so we have to prove a point again.
"For the moment, I'm so disappointed and angry about the first 15 minutes, I can't find the words for it. Then we have chances we should score. It could have been 2-1 and that would have changed everything I'm sure. Wolves deserve the three points."
Wolves defender Dawson enjoyed a dream debut after joining from West Ham. The 32-year-old scored for West Ham in a defeat against Liverpool in January 2021, but the result was a better one for him this time.
"Yeah obviously it's a great start," the centre-back said, per the BBC. "It was a great team performance from the lads. We worked hard this week. It dropped nicely for me and I put a bit of power behind it. Luckily it went in.
"They have great attacking threat and it's important we keep the clean sheets. It might be another meal out with the gaffer. We have a lot of quality players. The attackers are very powerful and skilful so we can score plenty of goals."
