Jurgen Klopp sends Divock Origi request to Liverpool fans as he pays moving tribute

Jurgen Klopp expects "Liverpool legend" Divock Origi to get a "special farewell" in his final game for the club at Anfield this weekend.

Origi has run down his contract with the Reds and is poised to join Italian giants AC Milan after agreeing personal terms. Reports suggest the striker is currently waiting on a medical before signing the contract.

Ahead of the final Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, the Reds boss said: "I expect Div to get a special farewell. For me, he will always be a Liverpool legend and it has been a joy to work with him.

"He's one of the most important players I ever had. Wherever he will go he will be successful, 100 per cent. I remember so many things when I think about Div. Goals, ups and downs. He is a Liverpool legend, no doubt."

Speaking on other potential outings with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joe Gomez, Adrian and Takumi Minamino, the 54-year-old added: "I don't want to see anyone leave but that's life. No-one has come to me and said they want to leave. It's not the time for that now.

"What happened this year is possible because of the group; world-class players. Kids played their part which was nice too. I have no idea who wants to go at the moment but if someone comes to me and says they have a club they want to join we will speak to the club with an offer."

Origi has been at Liverpool since 2015, making over 105 Premier League appearances for the Reds, earning the status of cult-hero. Despite being unable to be a regular starter for Klopp, starting only two league games in as many seasons, he made an impact off the bench on numerous occasions.

He scored twice in the Reds' sensational comeback in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona at Anfield in 2019 and scored the winner in the Merseyside derby the previous year. But the arrival of Luis Diaz from Porto earlier this year has restricted his first-team opportunities further.
