Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk face a race to be fit for Liverpool's quadruple finale.
But even though the two Anfield stars seem certain to miss the visit to Southampton on Tuesday night, boss Jurgen Klopp is confident they will be ready for the Champions League final.
Van Dijk is the biggest worry, with a knee injury that forced him off at the end of normal time in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
Salah has a groin issue, but it was just tightness, with Liverpool's biggest star withdrawn barely a half-hour into the epic contest with Chelsea as a precaution, despite insisting he wanted to play on.
Van Dijk revealed that he was struggling with an issue behind his knee, and he said: “I felt [it] in the first half when I did a sprint in the channel. I played 20 minutes, or something like that, with a little twinge behind the knee. I played on but, in the end, I can't risk it for the team and I need to trust Joel (Matip). We're going to check it out. Hopefully, it will be fine.”
Klopp admitted that both were likely to miss the visit to Southampton, but he said: “The next game is on Tuesday and that’s obviously pretty quick. No, I think they both will be fine, but not… maybe… (on Tuesday).”
Liverpool meanwhile, will not give up on their quadruple test, even though Manchester City still have the upper hand in the title race.
Wembley hero Trent Alexander-Arnold insisted the Reds will not wave the white flag, and he insisted that anything can still happen, with the Reds faced with two games where they can boost their goal difference.
“Anything can happen. We have seen stranger things happen,” he said. “There are two games left, it is looking unlikely but we just have to make sure we are in a good position to capitalise on anything.
“We just have to focus on ourselves, three games left, big games and if we win all three then it is a very memorable season for all of us.”
