After Jurgen Klopp signed a new contract in April which keeps him at Liverpool until 2026, it became clear that the Reds boss would usher in a new era at the club.
Within two months, his first major signing, Sadio Mane, departed for Bayern Munich and cult hero Divock Origi finally waved goodbye to Anfield - two players who've been vital parts of Klopp's team since his first full season, 2016-17. Another long-serving stalwart is Jordan Henderson, but unlike those two, he's not going anywhere this summer.
While Liverpool have dipped into the market over the past 12 months to bring in successors to their ageing stars - most notably Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez to replace Mane and Roberto Firmino respectively - the Reds haven't signed a marquee midfielder. Instead, Anfield chiefs are lining up a transfer swoop for England wonderkid Jude Bellingham next summer, a move which would well and truly set Liverpool's central unit up for the future.
