Jurgen Klopp reveals Darwin Nunez 'concern' after early Liverpool substitution vs West Ham
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Darwin Nunez was substituted as a precautionary measure because of injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over West Ham United on Wednesday night.
The Uruguayan scored his first Anfield goal for the Reds in the first half as he headed home Kostas Tsimikas’ cross, while he was also denied by the woodwork and Lukasz Fabianski as he caused the Hammers problems throughout. However, despite his impressive display, he was withdrawn before the hour-mark along with Fabio Carvalho and Thiago Alcantara as the German introduced Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Fabinho.

Speaking after the match, Klopp revealed the striker had felt his muscle at half-time and was withdrawn early to prevent a possible injury as he explained his reasoning behind each of his substitutions against West Ham.

'You can see' - Virgil van Dijk sends Darwin Nunez message after Liverpool goal
Virgil van Dijk praised Liverpool match-winner Darwin Nunez after the Reds recorded their third win on the spin with a 1-0 triumph over West Ham.
The Uruguayan striker opened the scoring for Liverpool in the first half with a superb header from a Kostas Tsimikas ball into the box before Alisson Becker saved Jarrod Bowen's penalty late in the first period.
Nunez's goal was his first at Anfield as he looks to cement his place in the Liverpool side following injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.
Liverpool defender Van Dijk believes Nunez has so much "potential" after making the move to the Premier League in the summer following his record transfer from Benfica.
