Jurgen Klopp has moved to ease fears over Diogo Jota's injury ahead of Liverpool's Carabao Cup final fixture against Chelsea but could provide little update on Bobby Firmino.
Both players missed Liverpool's win over Norwich on Saturday. Jota's absence was expected after picking up some damange to ligaments around the ankle, but Firmino's injury was announced as the Reds released their team news.
The Brazilian has a muscle injury that is to be assessed.
Following the 3-1 victory over the Canaries, Klopp provided some greater clarity after making seven changes to his side for the game at Anfield.
"With Diogo it looks better than we thought," Klopp said.
"With Bobby we don't know yet. It's a muscle injury and we have to see how long it will take. Not for the next for the next game, we will see. Trent was rested today. The rest were in the squad."
Before facing Chelsea, Liverpool have another Premier League clash against Leeds United to play, after travelling to Milan for their Champions League clash ahead of facing Norwich
Like Chelsea, Liverpool remain in four competitions and have to deal with the rigours of a relentless schedule while they do.
Klopp added: "We are in all four competitions. We enjoy it and long may it continue. But it's not easy for the boys. It's why we made seven changes. The next game we play is the most important. We wanted to help with seven changes and bring in fresh legs."
