Jurgen Klopp must make Liverpool transfer demand to FSG amid Jude Bellingham links

The Premier League race isn’t as over as people have been saying, but of course it is for Liverpool. We’re never going to make up that round now, the way things lie.

Top four has to be Liverpool’s target this season, that goes without saying, it’s massive. And then try and do what they did in the cup competitions last season, to salvage the season for a lack of a better term.

See what the cups bring us, but if Liverpool were to drop out of the top four then that would be horrendous for the club.

But there could be an injection of new blood in the January transfer window. In midfield, possibly.

We’ve talked about Jude Bellingham and other players, but I think in January and way things are right now and the way Liverpool are languishing in the league, I think Jurgen Klopp should demand that we get new signings in the team.

What Fabinho must do to get back in form

People are picking up on Fabinho’s performances in recent games. With the stats, I’m not one for them really and they can show a different light.

But when you are losing duels in midfield, it’s not good. That’s what he’s in the team for, to win duels and win the headers and to get control.

You look at the likes of Steven Gerrard in the past and Graeme Souness, in particular. Midfield players who can get a grip of the game and get the game by the scruff of the neck.

That’s what they are there for, and Fabinho is not doing that this season. I wouldn’t know why, but it could be as easy as a loss of form.

Everyone has a loss of form and belief. When you lose form you tend to lose belief in yourself.

As a striker, that can happen. But you’ve got to get a good game under your belt and you build on it.

That happens for anyone, even the best and greatest players in the world have a loss of form. You’ve got to get on with it and get back on track, it’s as easy as that.

Liverpool have one of their best ever keepers in Alisson

Alisson Becker has been, and is, different class for Liverpool. And what a save he made against Nottingham Forest to stop it from being 2-0, by the way.

You have your heart in your mouth sometimes with his passing, but he’s brilliant. He’s quality, and every great team in the world has a great goalkeeper and Liverpool have certainly got that.

Liverpool have had some magnificent goalkeepers in the past. I played with Bruce Grobbelaar and he was brilliant, and when I was young following the club Ray Clemence was the best goalkeeper in the world, I thought.

I loved him and he was a diamond of a man. What a lovely fella, we got on really well.

And now we’ve got Alisson here now. And he is right up there with the very best, right up there with Clemence and Grobbelaar, and that in itself tells you how good he is.

Importance of Darwin Nunez and Thiago Alcantara

Given the money that Liverpool have paid for him, Darwin Nunez has got to play and he’s got to score goals. Against West Ham, he looked bright as a button and we need him.

Hopefully he’ll be back against Ajax and then against Leeds United at the weekend. Then he can get up the goalscoring charts because that’s what he deserves to do and vie against Erling Haaland, which will be difficult in itself, and there’s not reason why he can’t.

We can’t just say that Liverpool are missing just Thiago Alcantara, it’s all of the players.

Personally, I think the club right now are missing the forwards most of all. That and the strength from the bench.

Steven Gerrard will come back stronger after Villa sacking

Steven Gerrard’s knowledge of the game is brilliant. He got experience at Rangers and this experience at Aston Villa will put him in good stead going forward.

I know it’s not nice to get the sack, but he’ll come again and rise above it. He wants to be a manager and stay at it, he’s that type of person to prove people wrong.

That’s what happens in football in this day and age, in the Premier League, there’s no loyalty. Clubs get a lot of money before anyone walks through the door to be in the top flight, and that’s why they fire their manager early because they know they need to stay in the Premier League.

But Stevie will regroup, hopefully he’ll have a good break and something will crop up and he’ll come back again.
