Jurgen Klopp makes request to Liverpool fans to make Europa League clash 'horrible' for LASK

Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool fans to rouse themselves for Thursday's Europa League meeting with LASK.

The Austrian side travel to Merseyside as hardly a glamour fixture for the Reds, who are set to rotate their team with one hand already on a place in the knockout stages.

Yet manager Klopp has insisted that the best way to put the pressure on LASK is for the Anfield faithful to make it a "horrible" place for opposition teams to come.

"We are in the beginning of the most intense period of the whole season," he told reporters.

"We play now Thursday-Sunday, it's super tough. What we have to have tomorrow is an atmosphere.

"We have to make sure that this is a European night and that is what I expect us to do - a proper European night at Anfield, really going for it. I will line up a team with fresh legs who want to go for it, enjoy the game and will really fight for a result.

"If Anfield wants to do that as well, that would be massively helpful.

"We have to show that Anfield is a wonderful place to come, but also a horrible place to come in the same moment."

Klopp has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss a fortnight of action after suffering an injury on the weekend.

Caoimhin Kelleher is set to be joined by the likes of Ben Doak and Jarell Quansah in getting a runout as Liverpool target a win to seal their qualification for the knockout stages.
