Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Manchester City's potential signing of Erling Haaland can push the transfer market to "new levels."
The Norway international is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer and has been linked with a number of European football's biggest clubs, including Liverpool.
Reports on Monday suggest it is likely to be City who secure Haaland's signature, as they are set to meet the £67 million release clause in the striker's Dortmund contract. Given his pedigree and potential, plenty would regard that as a bargain fee for the 21-year-old sensation.
However, it has been reported that Haaland may eventually end up costing around £250million by the time commissions and wages are paid to the player over the course of his contract.

Klopp has recently signed a new contract with Liverpool, meaning the Reds are likely to remain City's main opposition for silverware in the coming years, both domestically and in Europe.
The Liverpool boss said he's up for the fight when it comes to stopping City, although conceded that Haaland's potential arrival will make Liverpool's main competitors even stronger.
"I signed a new contract knowing City will not stop developing," the German told Sky Sports. "It's not about City to define if we can be happy or not. It's about us and what we can make of it.
"You have so many opportunities and so many different ways to win a football game. We have to find just one. It's possible obviously and you can do that - you face City in two, three competitions, Champions League - six times a year, more often than all the rest!
"We play against all the other teams, yes. But if Erling Haaland goes there (City) that will not weaken them. Definitely not.
"I know in the moment that other people talk about money, but this transfer will set new levels. Let me say this!"
City lead Liverpool by three points in the Premier League title race, with three games to play. The Reds can apply pressure to Pep Guardiola's side with a win over Aston Villa on Tuesday, while City travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers a day later.
