Jurgen Klopp Liverpool future assessed as Alisson makes honest claim over Leeds winner

Your Liverpool evening headlines on Sunday, October 30.

Alisson explains what Liverpool 'don't have time' to do after Leeds United defeat

Alisson Becker has admitted Liverpool do not have time to dwell on their negative situation after suffering a new setback at the hands of Leeds United.

Defeated 2-1 at Anfield, the Reds failed to get the better of a side who had not won a game in all competitions since August and were beginning to feel the pressures of an inevitable relegation battle. But, as has often been the case this term, Jurgen Klopp's team failed to impose themselves against inferior opposition and can now only hope for a top-four finish at best.

The manner of Leeds' opening goal told the story of Liverpool's season, with a defensive lapse in concentration providing Rodrigo Moreno with the simplest of finishes into an empty net. The Reds' woes were then compounded when Crysencio Summerville brushed past bodies in the box to snatch all three points.

Left disappointed by this late sickener, Alisson believes he should have kept out the Dutchman's effort but acknowledged he and the rest of the Liverpool team must quickly put this defeat behind them.

“We have to think a lot about what we did wrong tonight. The two goals we conceded we shouldn’t concede. I should have saved the second goal,” he told Sky Sports.

Tim Sherwood predicts what Jurgen Klopp will do if Liverpool miss out on top four

Tim Sherwood believes Jurgen Klopp will walk away from his role as Liverpool manager should the Reds fail to finish in the top four this season.

Eight points adrift of Newcastle United, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot, Liverpool face a battle on their hands to turn their campaign around after another damaging defeat in the top flight.

Leeds United became the fourth team to inflict a loss on the Reds this term following their win at Anfield on Saturday night, which laid bare all that is wrong with Klopp's men at this moment in time.

The Liverpool boss will know all too well this kind of form cannot continue if his team are to qualify for Europe's elite competition for an eighth successive season and Sherwood can picture a scenario whereby the German quits his current post should this aim fail to be achieved.
