Arsenal have been linked with a number of central midfielders this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad before the transfer window shuts.
Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans are just two players tipped to join the Gunners and plans to sign a midfielder may be accelerated following Jurgen Klopp's latest decision. Liverpool have endured a difficult start to the Premier League season with multiple key players being injured and now look set to dip back into the market for a new midfielder.
This now leaves Arsenal facing competition from a huge Premier League rival in the market with Klopp's side also being linked with moves for Neves and Tielemans. football.london understands the Gunners are prepared to wait until next summer to wrap up a deal for the latter, although plans could be accelerated should a rival club look to make a move for the Leicester star.

Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with Tielemans months ago, but a deal has stalled with the Gunners set to wait until next summer to sign the Belgium international on a free transfer instead, football.london understands. Liverpool have been linked with Tielemans in the past despite denying reports of a potential move, whilst Neves is another Arsenal transfer target that the Reds could look to make a move for.
Liverpool have received some positive reports on a few players including Neves and RB Leipzig's Konrad Laimer, according to 90min. Arsenal may have similar targets on their shortlist for the central midfield position and now face stiff competition in the form of their Premier League rivals due to the fact the Reds can offer Champions League football.
Mikel Arteta has been clear in his demands for more signings before the transfer window shuts next week and technical director Edu may look to get ahead of Liverpool's competition in the market by speeding up plans to sign Tielemans. Arsenal could alternatively stick to their guns and not change their strategy after Klopp's U-turn decision with Arteta revealing there are no new transfer updates at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the Gunners clash against Fulham this afternoon.
