Jurgen Klopp has made a 'statement' by handing Ben Doak his EPL debut for Liverpool.
That's the verdict of former England international Paul Robinson who believes the former Celtic kid has a 'very bright' future in the game after his meteoric rise at the English Premier League giants. The Reds swooped to land the youngster from Parkhead and after impressing in the youth set-up - including goals against Rangers in the UEFA Youth League - he was rewarded with his full debut in the Carabao Cup before landing further squad appearances in the top team.
It's been a whirlwind few months for the 17-year-old, who was also handed his first pro terms at Anfield as he continues to build his reputation. The young Scot was handed two top team Celtic appearances by Ange Postecoglou against Dundee United and Rangers before he left to move south of the border and he continues to make a huge impression on the Liverpool players, staff, fans and those from the wider football community.

Asked for an assessment over his league debut, Robinson told Football Insider : “It is a statement from the manager.
“It shows what Klopp thinks of him. He has only just come south of the border and is already being given a chance in the first team.
“It was not as if the game against Villa was done and dusted. A goal could have changed things very quickly. There was life in the game but Klopp trusted him. That says a lot.
“Klopp clearly thinks very highly of him. I think he has a very bright future ahead of him.
“He is one of many at Liverpool. [Harvey] Elliott, [Curtis] Jones and [Fabio] Carvalho have all been given game time. Klopp is not afraid to use them. Doak look like another great youngster in the stable.”
