It's an impossible task to replace Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but that's what currently faces Liverpool.
The Reds duo have yet to commit their futures to Anfield with both their contracts running out in 2023. Jurgen Klopp's men risk letting them walk away for free next summer unless they can convince the duo to sign new deals.
Liverpool cashing in on the pair this summer cannot be ruled out, as a result, especially after reports emerged that Sadio Mane wants to leave the club in the upcoming window with Bayern Munich lurking. The Reds value Mane at £42.5million, according to The Athletic, and are prepared to part ways if their demands are met, but won't consider any offers substantially lower than that as they won't be able to bring in a suitable replacement.
Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique reckons there are two standout candidates who must be on Klopp's shortlist - Jarrod Bowen and Bukako Saka. The Spaniard pinpointed the two England stars when speaking about how the Reds can improve this summer in the transfer market.
"We definitely need a back-up for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Trent will start so we need a younger player to put Trent on his toes," Enrique told Genting Casino. "Max Aarons from Norwich would be a good player to have. He's not the quality of Trent but he's a bit like Tsimikas with a similar style.
"We need a starting number eight. Thiago Alcantara is brilliant but he has injuries every season. Keita has the same injury problems, Henderson is getting older so we need a number eight for sure.
"I don't know too much about the Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni but you look at Luis Diaz and the recruitment usually gets it right. We also need a right-winger and I think Jarrod Bowen or Bukayo Saka could be a great shout as they're both not playing in the Champions League so it's a big possibility."
Klopp hasn't exactly endorsed the signings of Bowen and Saka but they are two players that he has admired from afar.
The German has spoken publicly of his admiration for Bowen after he finished West Ham's top scorer this season with 18 goals in all competitions. "I like Bowen a lot," the German said earlier this year. "He made his way up from Hull and took not too long to show exactly what kind of player he can be in the Premier League. He made big steps."

"Bowen, what a player he became," Klopp added. "He was at Hull as well but I don't think anybody expected this kind of jump. Unbelievable player."
Klopp echoed those sentiments for Saka who continues his meteoric rise at Arsenal as the German labelled him a "very young and exciting player" back in November 2021.
