Liverpool signed off ahead of the World Cup with a welcome Premier League victory against Southampton on Saturday at Anfield.
Roberto Firmino scored once and Darwin Nunez twice as the Reds earned a fourth successive victory in all competitions. Liverpool will now continue their defence of the Carabao Cup when they resume their season at Manchester City on December 22.
And here we look ahead to the changes Jurgen Klopp could make when his team are next in action.

Kelleher continues
That the Carabao Cup is Caoimhin Kelleher's competition was further underlined by his penalty shoot-out heroics in the last round against Derby County, and the Irishman will be expected to again start between the sticks ahead of Alisson Becker.
In fact, it would perhaps be a decent shout to say none of the seven Liverpool players who travel to Qatar will be involved in the City tie, which takes place only four days after the World Cup final in Doha.
Calvin Ramsay will be hoping for another chance at right-back, with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas competing for the left-back berth.
Joel Matip, likely to be back available, Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips will compete for the centre-back slots.
Keita question
The midfield against Derby saw teenagers Stefan Bajcetic and Bobby Clark both make the first senior starts of their careers. However, there could well be a much stronger look to the engine room given the likely available players and the need to regain match sharpness after the long break.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also began in the last round while Harvey Elliott emerged from the bench. James Milner, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones are other possibilities.
Naby Keita's involvement will depend on his fitness work in the next six weeks given he hasn't featured at any level since the end of July. Arthur Melo is out.
Strong up top?
The City game could offer some much-needed minutes to two of Liverpool's longer-term injury victims. Luis Diaz has started running after more than a month out with a knee problem and will be pressing for involvement.
Diogo Jota, meanwhile, has had two hamstring issues this season but is hopeful of being available again by the time the action resumes. For differing reasons, neither Mohamed Salah nor Roberto Firmino are at the World Cup and will be vying for an opportunity.
Fabio Carvalho is also another option. Academy players Layton Stewart and Melkamu Frauendorf both started against Derby while Ben Doak came off the bench.
