Jurgen Klopp doesn't agree with Pep Guardiola but Liverpool could prove Man City boss right

Jurgen Klopp has ruled Liverpool out of the Premier League title race on more than one occasion already this season following his side's poor start to the campaign. Having grown accustomed to seeing their team challenge for the title in recent years, along with every other major honour going, Kopites were understandably in agreement with the German’s disappointing assessment.

How could they not be? After losing away at Arsenal earlier this month, Liverpool found themselves tenth in the table. With all of their rival 'big six' clubs making up the Premier League's top five, and with Saudi Arabia-financed Newcastle United sitting sixth, they were already four points off the European places, six points behind the top four, trailing reigning champions Manchester City by 13 points and 14 points off the pace of league-leaders Arsenal.

Granted, they boasted a game in hand on the majority of those sides above them, but given their injury-struck start, a swift re-evaluation of their 2022/23 aspirations was needed. Yet not according to Pep Guardiola, it would seem.
