Jurgen Klopp has admitted Roberto Firmino scoring in Liverpool’s emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United was the ‘most special moment’ after breaking his silence on the Brazilian’s decision to leave the club.
It was revealed earlier this week that the 31-year-old will leave the Reds at the end of his contract this summer, calling time on trophy-laden Anfield career which has seen him win every major honour since joining the club in 2015.
Firmino scored Liverpool’s seventh and final goal against United in an astonishing victory, following on from braces from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah. His strike earned the biggest cheer of the night, with the Anfield crowd repeatedly serenading him with renditions of his chant, ‘Si Senor’, throughout the game.
