Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool aren't in this season's Premier League title race after suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal. A Bukayo Saka brace after Gabriel Martinelli's opener ensured all three points for the Gunners, who returned to the top of the division.
It means they remain one point ahead of champions Manchester City while building a huge 14-point gap on their opponents after just nine games played. "Thank you so much to the boys and our supporters for experiencing an afternoon like this," Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said after the victory. "It's why we are here, and I really enjoyed it, especially the way we won.
"I've never seen it [the Emirates Stadium] like this. You cannot imagine how much it helps the players and how much belief and confidence, how much support… It's one of the nicest things we've done since we've been together here - to unite everybody and feel like you go here and you're going to have some experience. It's great."
