“I think it was just like what I practiced at the gym. I pressurized my opponent with my strikes, boost their stamina, and when they come to the ground, I finish them off with a submission. That’s my sparring routine. It was definitely exactly how we trained back home – if he strikes, strike him back, defend his takedowns, and then if he goes to the ground, just drain him out until he has no stamina left, and then go for the choke.”

Park on taking little damage

“I think I got hit (hard) three times in the first round. I think I got hit (hard) two times in the second round. The rest didn’t do much damage. He felt like the first round, maybe three punches out of that were actually effective, and then the second round maybe the two calf kicks.”

Park on what he wants next

“I love to drink and the only time I dance is when I drink. If you bring me a beer right now, I’ll dance. I don’t think I can drink (Korea’s national alcohol) soju here in Las Vegas. I’ll spend hundreds of dollars if I drink it. I’ll hold it back and drink it in Korea.”
