Leeds United full-back Junior Firpo is already attracting interest from a number of clubs on the continent following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims Firpo is keen on the idea of ‘a new experience’ next season with his time at Elland Road set to come to an end.
The 26-year-old has spent two seasons with Leeds, joining the club from Barcelona in the summer of 2021, but it would be fair to say he has rarely looked settled. Firpo struggled for consistency during his first campaign in West Yorkshire with injuries and poor form ensuring he struggled to endear himself to the Whites support.
Those issues carried on into his second season with Leeds, in which he made just 19 Premier League appearances. A knee injury ruled him out of the opening six games under Jesse Marsch and that gave Pascal Struijk the chance to nail down the position, which he did until injury opened the door to Firpo once more in February.

Firpo arguably produced his strongest form in a Leeds shirt under Michael Skubala and Javi Gracia but, like many of his teammates, he found the going tough as Leeds began their slide towards the bottom three. He has made 51 appearances for Leeds in all competitions, scoring two goals in the process.
The Dominican may well be hoping for a more settled experience at his next club, should he move on this summer. Firpo isn’t the only man expected to leave Elland Road this summer as Leeds begin to prepare for life in the Championship.
The likes of Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto have already been linked away, with huge changes to be come this summer, from board level to the pitch.
