The State Examinations Commission (SEC) will issue the Junior Cert examination results to students on November 23.
Five months will have passed since students in third year across the island sat their Junior Cycle exams - with the SEC noting that "very significant examiner shortages" affected marking for both sets of state exams.
This has led to the delay, with the group making "every effort" to complete the marking.
