Being a hitter in Major League Baseball has to be a frightening experience. So many pitchers these days can throw some serious heat, and getting hit by one of those pitches can't be much fun.
Mariners star slugger Julio Rodríguez experienced just that in Wednesday night’s game against the Twins when Minnesota’s All-Star closer, Jhoan Durán, hit him with a fastball that hit 103-mph on the radar gun.
The pitch hit Rodríguez in the left arm and the ball went flying out of play like it had been shot out of a cannon.
Rodríguez was somehow able to shake it off and have some fun with it, saying he thought he saw his life passing in front of him and that “it hurt.”
