Julie Malone proud of 'brave' husband Tom as Gogglebox fans support daring charity feat

Julie Malone has shared her pride in husband Tom after the Gogglebox star embarked on a daring challenge for charity.

The Malones have been part of the furniture on the hit Channel 4 show for years mow, with Tom, Julie, their children and, of course, their dogs, real firm favourites with fans. And, while they're not on screen at the moment as the Gogglebox cast take a break before the next series, the family have remained active on Instagram.,

They've not long returned from a holiday abroad and Tom most definitely needed a head for heights as he undertook a rather scary feat for a cause very important to the family at the weekend.

Last week Tom and Julie posted a video on their Insta grid in which they revealed that Tom had signed up to do an abseil down a tower of the Trafford Centre shopping complex on the outskirts of Manchester to raise as much money as possible for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Julie appealed for the couple's many social media followers to donate on Tom's JustGiving page and was there to see her other half complete the mission, filming him in action.

With Tom back on solid ground, Julie uploaded the clip to Instagram, heaping praise on her husband as she wrote: "Tom Malone abseiling the tower at The Trafford Centre for @roycastlelungcancer. So proud of him !!!"

Fans were also quick to congratulate Tom, with one replying: "Full respect to Tom malone...for keeping it real and down to earth helping people out for great causes," with another commenting: "Huge congratulations well done what a fantastic cause my mother has stage 4 lung cancer but doing well so thank you Tom."

Tom and Julie then returned to their account to thank fans for their support and open up on why the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation was such an important cause for their family, explaining: "Thank you, thank you, thank you. Every penny helps. We lost a wonderful Dad, Dad in law and our children lost a phenomenal Grandad to this horrible disease ,also Tom's Aunty Kay a brilliant lady. Cancer affects everyone in some way let's try our best to help!"
