Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland to start in Man City fans' line-up for Chelsea fixture

Manchester City can close the gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table to just five points when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening (8pm GMT).

Pep Guardiola's side were held to a 1-1 draw in their last game against Everton, as Erling Haaland's first-half goal was cancelled out by a Demarai Gray stunner from the edge of the box. It was a disappointing result to a side that are languishing in the relegation zone and City will be desperate to set the record straight against Chelsea.

Graham Potter's men also dropped points in their last match, as Nottingham Forest came from behind to draw 1-1 against the London club at the City Ground. Guardiola will be eager for his side to stop former player Raheem Sterling from scoring in successive league games when the two sides meet on Thursday night.

With nearly a full squad to pick from, Guardiola has some difficult choices to make when naming his starting XI for the first time this year.

This is how City fans want their side to line up this afternoon, as MEN Sport takes a closer look at what they have voted for using our interactive widget:

In goal, fans have backed Ederson to start once again between the sticks. The Brazilian will be hoping he can keep both his and City's seventh clean sheet in the league this term.

Supporters have called for Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo to return to the starting XI after being named on the bench for the 1-1 draw with Everton. The move would see Nathan Ake return to his natural position at centre-back alongside John Stones, with Aymeric Laporte still a doubt with injury.

The Blues faithful have called for a midfield three of Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan from their Catalan manager. The German midfielder came on as a late substitute against the Toffees and the fans have clearly missed his presence in the middle of the pitch.

Up front, a return to Premier League action for World Cup winner Julian Alvarez has been called for by supporters, as they plead with Guardiola to start the Argentine alongside Haaland. Phil Foden rounds off the front three to take on Chelsea with both Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez missing out on a spot in the first-team.

Starting line-up City fans want to see vs Everton: Ederson; Walker, Ake, Stones, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Alvarez, Haaland, Foden.
