She famously trained her sons Andy and Jamie to become world-beating tennis players.
Now Judy Murray is in training to keep a straight face as she sets out on a career in comedy.
After two small-scale appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe last year and a couple of brief TV spots, Judy will reunite with comedian Chris Forbes for their biggest gig yet at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow.
And she admits she may not be able to wipe the smile off her face as she ticks off her incompetent “third son Duncan”, played by Forbes.
Judy, 63, said: “When I did Duncan and Judy the first time with Chris, it was just a little three-minute clip for BBC Scotland, and I did it because it sounded like it would be such fun.
“It got such a huge response that we did a sketch for Children in Need. We also did Comic Relief.
“As Duncan, Chris is trying to find something that he might be good at, that he might have a talent for, and is trying to impress me.
“And, of course, he always messes everything up. That I don’t know half of what’s coming up makes it even funnier.
“I just have to react with disappointment and I really thought I was going to be able to do that because I can get into the persona of the disappointed mother.
“But some of the things he comes up with are just so funny I end up in hysterics.”
The show is part of the line-up for this year’s Glasgow’s International Comedy Festival, running from March 15 to April 2.
Judy is in Melbourne as Andy, 35, prepares to face 13th seed Matteo Berrettini tomorrow in the Australian Open first round.
