More than a thousand school children from Nottingham have designed a Christmas card in a campaign led by MP Lilian Greenwood. The Labour MP for Nottingham South tasked schools across her constituency with designing a card.
The judging took place on Friday, November 18, and the winner is set to be announced shortly. Lilian was joined on the judging panel by Lisa Brackner, HR Director at Bridgeway Consulting Ltd, Nicola Tidy, Marketing Director at Nottingham City Transport, Natalie Fahy, Editor at the Nottingham Post and Nottinghamshire Live, and Amanda Spruyt, Head of Learning at the Nottingham Contemporary.
Lilian said: “It was brilliant to look through more than 1,000 entries, from 15 primary schools in my constituency, to choose the winning design for my 2022 Christmas card.

"I know that the whole judging panel were very impressed by the quality and imagination exhibited in the entries." She added: "I would like to thank every child who participated in this years competition, their hard-working teachers and my fellow judges. I would also like to thank our competition sponsors Nottingham City Transport and Bridgeway Consulting Ltd for their support.
"There will be an exhibition of the winning designs from each school on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December at the Nottingham Contemporary which will be open to the public.”
Editor of the Nottingham Post and Nottinghamshire Live, Ms Fahy, said: "I am always so impressed at the level of artistic talent in our primary schools. This year was no exception and it was so difficult for all the judges to pick a winner. The winner has really tried to think about what Nottingham is all about and I can't wait to see it in print."
The competition was last year won by then-10-year-old Mariam Habbes, who said it was 'amazing' to be picked out above the rest.
