Judge Juan Merchan has made a significant adjustment in the way individual jurors will be questioned during the ongoing proceedings. The judge announced that in order to ensure a more comfortable environment for the juror being questioned, the courtroom will be cleared of all other jurors, who will be sent back to the general room.
This decision was made to prevent the juror from feeling intimidated while speaking in front of a full courtroom. The juror will then respond to questions from the podium, with the judge, attorneys, former President Trump, and select members of the press present in the room.
