Liverpool continued their impressive Premier League form with a win over Leicester City at Anfield on Friday night.
That win came just two days after the Reds confirmed that they had reached an agreement for the transfer of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. The forward, who was in attendance at Anfield for the 2-1 victory over the Foxes, arrives at Anfield on the back of an impressive World Cup showing with the Netherlands.
But how likely are Liverpool to sign some of the big names that have been mentioned in the rumour mill in the last few weeks?

SkyBet has the latest transfer odds and it makes for interesting reading. It's important, however, to take most of it with a pinch of salt. The players listed below are the names who the Reds are 'most likely' to sign in January…
Moises Caicedo - 2/1
Ecuadorian outlet Teradeportes claimed last week that Liverpool were willing to make an offer to sign Caicedo with Brighton demanding a fee of around €70m (£62m). However, the ECHO understands that these reports are not true and that Liverpool are not in talks with Brighton over a deal to sign the midfielder.
But that hasn’t stopped the Ecuador international being linked with a move to Anfield this month. Since joining Brighton in 2021, Caicedo has made 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and claiming two assists.
Jude Bellingham - 5/2
Transfer interest from the Reds is long-standing - yet there is set to be a battle to bring Bellingham to Anfield. The 19-year-old has been a big hit in German football since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and has now established himself as one of the most sought-after players in Europe.
Speaking before Christmas, Jurgen Klopp described Bellingham as 'exceptional' and outlined the midfielder’s qualities. Both Real Madrid and Manchester City, it is claimed, are interested in signing the England star, who, according to recent reports, was valued at £130m by Dortmund before his performances at the World Cup.
Sofyan Amrabat - 3/1
Amrabat was one of the stars of the World Cup for surprise package Morocco with his commanding displays from midfield. His impressive performances have attracted the attention of some of Europe's leading clubs - reportedly including Liverpool.
The midfielder is under contract at Fiorentina until 2024 and recently spoke about being linked with a move away from the Italian side. “I’m proud to be linked to top clubs like Barcelona and Atletico,” he told Spanish publication Marca.
“But I’m a Fiorentina player, I respect the club and I’ve a great relationship with the president. [Diego] Simeone? We have a good coach at Fiorentina too but… yes, I like El Cholo's [ Simeone's] style [of play].”
Kylian Mbappe - 6/1
Reports emerged back in October claiming the attacker would look to leave PSG in January after becoming disillusioned with his situation at the club. That report came just months after the 23-year-old forward signed a new three-year deal with his current employers, despite at one point looking certain to seal a transfer to Real Madrid.
Mbappe himself has expressed his admiration for Klopp's side and revealed last year he held talks with Liverpool over a possible move six years ago. However, speaking back in November, the French international reaffirmed his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain.
“You can stay here [PSG] to have success," he told Sports Illustrated. "For us it’s a big message, because when I announced I stay, a lot of things change in the mentality of people. People start to say, ‘Yeah, we don’t need to go out. You don’t need to leave the country’.”
Declan Rice - 7/1
The England midfielder has risen up the game thanks to some superb performances in the Premier League for West Ham United and on the international stage. He is now regarded as one of the best around in his position.
Rice raised eyebrows at the World Cup when he said he wanted to win trophies and play in the Champions League. That admission, however, has since led to links with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.
But speaking last month, Hammers boss David Moyes warned that he will not 'roll over' and allow his captain to leave the club in the summer. Moyes said: “But we’re not just going to roll over and let Dec walk out of the building, that is for sure. It is going to be a big fight.”
Youri Tielemans - 8/1
The Leicester City man is out of contract in the summer and is, therefore, able to begin negotiating a pre-contract with overseas teams this month, which has left the midfielder's future at the King Power stadium beyond next summer in serious doubt.
Liverpool and Arsenal are two of the sides that have been frequently linked with a move for the Belgian due to his strong performances since moving to the Premier League in January 2019. However, both clubs would have to wait until the summer months to enter free transfer talks with the 25-year-old and his representatives.
