Jota to Celtic transfer excitement heightens with move 'made official soon' and contract length announced

Jota is expected to become a Celtic player once again shortly as the Hoops reach an agreement with Benfica for his transfer.

The Portuguese winger dazzled on loan at Parkhead under boss Ange Postecoglou last term, helping them win a Premiership and League Cup double. His exploits alongside the likes of fellow 2021 recruit Kyogo Furuhashi won him the admiration of Glasgow's east end and fans have been eager for an announcement on his permanent future.

It's long been expected that Celtic will complete a seven figure deal to bring the 23-year-old back to Scotland, with an option to buy originally inserted into his temporary agreement. Postecoglou has brought some of his squad back for pre-season training this week but alongside a host of international players, Jota was not present, instead spotted at a music festival in his homeland. But news is finally expected to arrive in the imminent future.
