Jota in Ange Postecoglou Celtic exit tribute as he thanks new Tottenham boss for 'life opportunity'

Jota has paid an emotional tribute to Ange Postecoglou following his Celtic exit.

The former Hoops gaffer has traded Glasgow for a crack at the English Premier League after penning a four-year deal with Tottenham as Antonio Conte's permanent successor. The task will be to get the North London side back competiting for Champions League football and in the hunt for silverware after a poor eighth place finish this season meaning no European football next term.

His two years at Parkhead proved a huge hit with the 57-year-old ending his time at the club in the perfect fashion with a Treble success. Last weekend's victory over Inverness in the Scottish Cup Final secured the domestic clean sweep and five trophies out of a possible six since taking over the top job in the east end.

Postecoglou was widely praised for his work in the transfer market along the way with one of those signings an unknown star at the time in the shape of Jota. He secured his services on a loan deal from Benfica in his first season before shelling out for his permanent capture.

The Portuguese attacker - on the radar of national team boss Roberto Martinez - has been a hit at the Scottish champions and quickly established himself as a fans' favourite. In 83 appearances in all competitions he has scored 28 goals and provided 26 assists.

He had an unforgettable moment in the Champions League last season - despite the scoreline against Real Madrid - as he netted a stunning free-kick at the Bernabeu.

Now, as Postecoglou takes on a new challenge, Jota has paid tribute to the man on social media and thanked him for a 'life opportunity' and admits he will always be grateful.

Alongside a picture of the duo on his Instagram story, he wrote: "To a man who gave me a life opportunity, never lost belief in his philosophy and marked an era.

"I'll forever be grateful for every moment. Best of luck gaffer!"
