Jota breaks Celtic transfer exit silence as he expresses excitement at Al-Ittihad 'adventure'

Jota has expressed his excitement at joining Al-Ittihad as he broke his silence following his Celtic transfer exit.

The Saudi Pro League side - who boast superstars like Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante in their ranks - have snapped up the Hoops star in a big money move on a three-year deal. He was a huge fans' favourite at the Scottish champions during his two years at the club as he makes the move to the Middle East for the next chapter of his career.

Ange Postecoglou snapped up the 24-year-old on a season-long loan from Benfica during his first season in Glasgow before making his permanent transfer a priority last summer, shelling out £6.5million to secure his stay. His old club are quids in after inserting a sell-on fee in the deal. Last season he netted 15 goals and 12 assists across all competitions including a Champions League strike against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in a moment he described as 'one of the best moments of my life'

Now he has taken to social media to express his delight at making the move to his new club as he thanked everyone for his warm welcome to the 'biggest club in Asia'.

He wrote on Instagram: "Yallaaaaa!!! @ittihadclub.sa

"So excited to have join the Champions of Saudi and the biggest club in Asia.

"Can’t wait to meet you all in Jeddah and thank you for the warm welcome.

"An adventure is about to start."
