Josip Juranovic Rangers Celtic performance slammed as fresh transfer exit claim emerges after derby misfire

Josip Juranovic was slammed by former Celtic star Scott McDonald for his performance against Rangers amid swirling transfer links.

The Croatian returned from his World Cup exploits in Qatar high off the back of an impressive campaign, but was not at first selected by Ange Postecoglou for the crunch derby against Michael Beale's men. Instead Juranovic was resigned to the bench with new boy Alistair Johnston given a huge vote of confidence during the 2-2 draw at Ibrox.

But Chelsea-linked star Juranovic was called in to action early on after Greg Taylor was injured on 20 minutes - despite Postecoglou admitting the 27-year-old wasn't at 100 per cent heading in to Monday's blockbuster. And Juranovic came under heavy criticism for his showing, being blamed in some quarters for not being able to keep up with Fashion Sakala for the equaliser and penalty.

One former Parkhead star in McDonald was not best impressed with the fullback as he tweeted: "Juranovic is still in Qatar. Before adding: "Juranovic wow. He’s away after this has to be."

Despite some European big hitters such as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid being linked with a move for the defender, recent reports suggest Celtic have not received any bids from the Stamford Bridge outfit with Juranovic still tied in to a lengthy deal in Glasgow.
