Josie Gibson's subtle swipe at 'toxic' ITV culture as she praises This Morning co-hosts

Josie Gibson has seemingly taken a subtle swipe at the ongoing scandal surrounding ITV and This Morning as she discussed her time on the hit daytime show.

The former Big Brother winner has won over viewers and was handed a regular presenting role alongside Holly Willoughby after Phillip Schofield exited This Morning in May.

Josie even sat alongside Holly as she gave an emotional statement regarding the downfall of the TV star and former friend earlier this month, and it seems she’s learned a valuable lesson in recent weeks.

Speaking to new! magazine about her secret to a successful career in telly, she said: “Always be polite to everybody.

“Be even more polite to the people at the bottom, because the ones who are making your tea and coffee, one day they will be your editors and they will be your producers,” Josie wisely explained.

Some fans have suggested this was a subtle swipe at ITV, with many former guests and hosts - including Dr Ranj and Eamonn Holmes - making accusations about a “toxic” atmosphere on the set of the hit daytime show.

Elsewhere in the interview, she spoke about her close bond with co-hosts Holly and Alison Hammond, and said was “raised by strong women” so enjoys being around like minded pals.

“I'm a girls' girl - I love female company and I think the power of a woman is so special.” she gushed.

“I love to see women, and my friends, do well and really try and get the results they deserve,” Josie added.

“Friendship is so important to me.”

The TV star has previously spoken about her This Morning gig, and confessed her career was a “fluke” and she still suffers from debilitating nerves.

“I wasn’t a very good presenter at the start, because I couldn’t see the autocue, but then I had my eyes lasered, and This Morning gave me a chance,” she told OK!

“I cannot believe I work on This Morning. I actually cannot get over it. If someone had told me I’d present one of the biggest daytime TV shows I would have laughed in their face. I feel so grateful and honoured,” Josie smiled.
