Josie Gibson forced to comfort Craig Doyle just seconds into ITV This Morning ahead of final show

Josie Gibson was left comforting Craig Doyle just seconds into their latest stint hosting This Morning. The pair have been hosting the ITV daytime show over the last week after taking over from Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

The latter duo, who usually present the show on a Friday, stepped into the role for the first week of the half-term break as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield took some time off. And on Thursday (April 13), it appeared the stint at the helm of the programme was taking a toll on Craig.

Opening the penultimate episode of the week, Josie said; "A big hello to you and welcome to your Thursday's This Morning," before turning to her co-host and adding: "It's been a really good week, hasn't it, Craig?"

And while he agreed, he did say: "It's Thursday though. It feels like a five-coffee day. It can be a five-coffee Thursday. I feel like I could cry at a phone-in today. It depends if, anything like a sick dog phone in or anything emotional I might cry."

Josie replied: "It is tiring, isn't it?" to which Craig agreed: "Thursdays are tiring." But Josie tried to hype him up as she said: "We're going to bring the energy. We've got a really great show."

But Craig wasn't quite done as he said: "I might start crying early doors here because nostalgia really upsets me sometimes." He then explained that they were going to be talking about Tupperware but as he was reading his link, Josie had to put her arm around her fellow presenter as he said; "I'm going to cry about food storage."

Comforting him, former Big Brother winner Josie said: "He's a bit emotional today. But come on, it's going to be alright. Everything's going to be alright in the end," before she had to confirm that Tupperware has said it could go out of business.

Craig did appear to hold it together and later ended up being surprised to learn of Josie's unusual hobby. The pair were joined by Tom Swarbrick and Nick Ferrari to chat through the latest news headlines in 'This Morning's View' when they spoke about a new commemorative coin that had been released by the Royal Mint ahead of the coronation of King Charles.

Sharing her obsession with collecting coins, Josie revealed she loves to keep 50ps and has 100s in her collection. Josie also told her co-stars she has folders where she displays them and wanted to get her hand on the coronation one. Her co-star Craig then asked if he could reveal what else she collected as she hesitated before agreeing.

He then shared how she collected calculators, as the show's two guests asked her which kind. Admitting she was "weird", Josie said she loved to collect all different types of calculators - old and new. "I collect 50ps, I’ve collected 50ps for years! I’m always on the royal mint. Always," she shared of her collecting obsession.

"I have books and books and books of them! If you’re a collector, you’re a collector." Journalist Tom then added: "It’s not tender is it, it’s just a thing. You can’t [use it], but it’s a beautiful thing to have in your collection," as he understood Josie's love of coin collecting.
