Joshua Allen has returned to MMA training after his release from prison.
The fighter and son of celebrity Cork chef Rachel Allen was sent plenty of well-wishes from friends and colleagues after getting back on the mats at the popular Samson MAA in Cork city.
Last July a judge gave Mr Allen, of Ballinamona, Shanagarry, Co Cork, a twelve month sentence with five suspended after he was caught with €280 worth of cocaine just five weeks after being released from a sentence for having €22,000 worth of cannabis for sale and supply in 2020.

He was given a two-month sentence over the cocaine incident, while part of a 15-month sentence for the previous cannabis conviction had also been reactivated.
On Thursday, Allen posted a picture of him training writing the words "fresh" with many pals welcoming him back, reports Cork Beo.
The fighter trains out of Samson MAA, and they also put up a story saying: "It's great to have Joshua Allen back to training tonight".
Mam Rachel also commented on the post, sending a love heart, while one said "welcome home" and another wrote "clean slate. Let's go."
Many wished him the best going forward as he looks to get back into the groove of things.
Before going back to prison Allen had been showing good promise in the sport and was starting to make a name for himself after winning a few bouts.
His gym Samson were fully behind him and earlier this year he said they played a huge part in helping him find a focus in life.
In January revealed that he had been at a “very low point” in his life and that if anyone had told him two years ago he would have been running his own stone mason business and fighting in amateur MMA he would have “laughed”.
He added: “Still have a lot of things I have to face this year but I’m going to face them head on like I do with everything else in life.”
