Josh Warrington and Kiko Martinez meet once again at the First Direct Arena in Leeds tonight, five years after Warrington won the first fight by majority decision. This set up the Leeds man for a world title fight with Lee Selby in early 2018, a title he held for three years before he gave up the belt in 2021, a month before he lost his unbeaten record to Mauricio Lara.
Martinez won the belt with a win over Kid Galahad in Sheffield last year meaning that Warrington gets a shot at a title he may have thought would never win again. On the undercard of tonight's fight is a world title fight between Maria Cecilia Roman and Australia's Ebanie Bridges which comes just before Warrington and Martinez step out.
Speaking ahead of the fight, Warrington said: “I don’t think he’s going to turn up March 26 and start dancing round the ring with his hands down. What he brings is ferocious pace, he’s energetic and he throws lots of punches.

“I guarantee he’ll do the same and he probably thinks he can knock me out as well. He’s seen me be put on the canvas so he probably thinks I’m susceptible, but we’ll be ready for whatever he brings.”
