Josh Taylor has fired back at Teofimo Lopez after the American made a sick claim he wants to ‘kill’ him in the ring.
The boxing pair will lock horns next Saturday at Madison Square Garden with the Tartan Tornado’s WBO super lightweight crown on the line. And former undisputed champion Taylor has refused to be intimidated by Lopez ahead of the clash.
Taylor said: “He can come try and take my life, let’s see who is the one who ends up in the back of an ambulance. That may be a horrible comment back but let him come and try, let’s see what happens. Good on him.”
Lopez caused controversy earlier this week when he said: “I said it like it is – I want to kill Josh Taylor. What the f*** does that mean? Well, let’s get back to boxing – that is boxing. “You’re probably going to lose your life. What does that mean? This is what we sign up for.”
