Queen's Park have left Partick Thistle stunned thanks to Rangers loanee Josh McPake contributing heavily to a 4-0 rout at Firhill.
It could have been so different in the first half had Aaron Muirhead converted his penalty for Ian McCall's side and the game flipped before the half-hour mark through Tommy Robson's goal. McPake assisted that effort then netted his first and second goals for the Spiders since joining Owen Coyle's team on a season-long loan from Rangers, both coming after Stephen Eze had doubled their lead.
Thistle drop down to second in the Scottish Championship after the bruising loss and Queen's are on their tails, sitting third and also on 20 points, only behind the Jags on goal difference. Coyle said of his side's display: "The second half was as good a performance as we’ve had this season.

“We scored four very good goals and we could have had others but so could Partick Thistle. The four goals are nice but I was happier with the clean sheet.”
McCall meanwhile was dismayed by his side's second half showing: "I didn’t see that coming after the first half. It’s a sore one."
Next up for Thistle is an away trip to Ayr United on Tuesday while Queen's host Dundee at Ochilview next Friday night.
