Running back Josh Jacobs is officially back with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The offensive powerhouse agreed to a one-year deal with the Raiders worth up to $12 million on Saturday, which simultaneously ended his holdout and gave him a window to get a bigger deal next offseason.
After a summer filled with controversy about how elite running backs are compensated in the NFL, Jacobs’ new deal with Las Vegas settled a major piece of the puzzle, at least for now.
Raiders fans got to breathe a huge sigh of relief when word came through of Jacobs’ new deal, which the running back confirmed with a perfectly succinct social media post.
I’m back 😈😏

Sometimes, you don’t have to say much to get your message across clearly, and Raiders fans will certainly be happy to have one of the team’s best players back on the gridiron this fall.
However, this is just a one-year fix, and if Jacobs has another major season, the Raiders will have to sign him to a more lucrative extension next spring.
