Josh Harris gets the game ball for first official win as Commanders owner

Josh Harris officially took over as managing partner of the Washington Commanders on July 20. On Sunday, Harris got his first official win as owner with Washington’s 20-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals in front of a sold-out crowd at FedEx Field.

After the game, Harris went into the locker room to celebrate with his players and coaches. Head coach Ron Rivera gave one of the game balls to Harris.

Players clapped and cheered loudly for Harris.

“We’re family,” Harris said. “That’s one, it’s one for the city, it’s all you. Thank you.”

Rivera then gave game balls to defensive end Montez Sweat, who, along with fellow defensive linemen Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen, carried Washington in Sunday’s game, and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

This isn’t Harris’ first game ball, as Rivera gave him at least two game balls from the preseason. But make no mistake, this is the one that matters the most for Harris. It was his first real win as owner of the team he grew up rooting for.
