Josh Green's hot hand helps Mavericks beat 76ers in NBA

Australian Josh Green has continued his hot form to lead Dallas to an upset 118-102 NBA win against Philadelphia.

Green scored 20 points on Monday night (Tuesday AEDT) to go with his six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a star display for the visiting Mavericks.

The 23-year-old nailed four of his seven attempts from three-point land, with his performance helping Dallas overcome an 11-point second-quarter deficit.

Green's big night continued a recent run of stunning form for the Boomers guard, who has now tallied hauls of 20, 20 and 18 points in his past three matches.

He also poured in 21 points on four-of-five shooting from long range against the Hawks on January 27.

The Australian had plenty of support against the 76ers.

Kyrie Irving returned from a sprained right thumb to score 23 points, while Luke Doncic (19), Jaden Hardy (17), Grant Williams (14) and Maxi Kleber (14) also chipped in.

Philadelphia were without reigning MVP Joel Embiid (impending knee surgery), while De'Anthony Melton (back), Robert Covington (knee) and Nicolas Batum (hamstring) were also absent.

Kelly Oubre Jr. top-scored for the Sixers with 19 points, while Tobias Harris contributed 17 points.

In other action, injury-prone Australian Ben Simmons was rested from Brooklyn's 109-98 loss to a Steph Curry-inspired Golden State.

Curry scored 29 points and Jonathan Kuminga added 28 as the Warriors overcame a six-point halftime deficit to post the win.

Simmons is expected to return for Brooklyn's clash with Dallas on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT).

The Los Angeles Lakers secured their third win in a row following big performances from Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell and LeBron James in a 124-118 victory over Charlotte.

Davis produced a triple-double (26 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists), while Russell scored 28 points and James finished with 26 points and seven assists.

Miles Bridges scored 41 points and Brandon Miller added 33 points, but it couldn't stop the Hornets from slumping to their eighth straight loss.

Australian Dyson Daniels played 21 minutes for New Orleans in their 138-100 thrashing of the Toronto Raptors.

Daniels contributed five points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds in his cameo.

But it was Brandon Ingram who was the star of the show with 41 points and nine assists.

Ingram hit a career-high eight three-pointers from his 11 attempts from long range, while Zion Williamson chipped in with 16 points.

Rookie Gradey Dick was the surprise top scorer for Toronto with 22 points.

Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points to lift the LA Clippers to a 149-144 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

James Harden tallied 30 points and 10 assists as the Clippers overcame a four-point deficit early in the final quarter to secure victory and Donovan Mitchell scored a game-high 29 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers posted their sixth straight win with a 136-110 win over the Sacramento Kings.
