Josh Doig tees up Hibs transfer payout as Verona name asking price with FOUR Serie A clubs circling

Hibs could be set to cash in on Josh Doig again as Hellas Verona have slapped a £6million price tag on the wing-back's head.

The Scotland U21s skipper was called up to Steve Clarke 's full squad in September but he didn't get off the bench despite impressing after swapping Easter Road for Serie A. He's caught the eye with a number of swashbuckling performances down the left and despite Verona's desperately poor form leaving them rooted to the bottom of Serie A, Doig is viewed as one of their sellable assets.

Hibs sold him for £3m in July but Verona look set to double that although Lee Johnson 's team would be due a significant sell on percentage. Atalanta are reportedly leading the chase to sign the player, who plays either as a wing back or left winger for Verona. But they face serious competition from Napoli, Roma and Bologna, where fellow Scot Lewis Ferguson currently plays.

And Verona have set an asking price of £6 million before they will entertain bids. Verona have suffered a miserable first half of the season and currently sit bottom of the table after just one league win all campaign.

Doig's Serie A debut was against Atalanta and their manager Gian Piero Gasperini was impressed with the young Scot's performance.

They need a natural left winger in their squad and reports in Italy have suggested they are best placed to land Doig, which could boost Hibs with a January windfall.
