Josh Doig is said to have escaped a serious injury after Bevis Mugabi's late tackle on Sunday.
The Hibs defender, 19, was the subject of a late lunge inside a minute, which would see the Motherwell player shown a straight red.
He required treatment after the challenge and, despite trying to play on, had to go off for Chris Mueller.
A first-half double from Elias Melkersen was enough to secure Hibs' progress in the Scottish Cup, although the Steelmen pulled one back through Joseph Efford before the break.
Shaun Maloney said after the match that Doig was "struggling a little bit".
However, the Edinburgh Evening News is now reporting that the teenager suffered an impact injury, rather than anything too serious.
He was said to be walking not long after being taken off by Maloney.
It will come as somewhat of a relief to Hibs, who have had no shortage of injury concerns recently.
Joe Newell returned to the team ahead of schedule yesterday, but the visitors were still without captain Paul Hanlon, Harry Clarke, Kyle Magennis and Kevin Nisbet.
