Joseph Holland's cause of death confirmed as man due to appear in court charged with murder

The cause of Joseph Holland's death has been confirmed by police.

A post mortem found Mr Holland died from a stab wound to the chest, on Thursday, June 8. The 25-year-old, from Huyton, was found dead by police at an address on Huyton House Road after they were called to reports for concern for the safety of a man.

Mr Holland's family said: "No words could ever describe the loss of our beautiful son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was loved by everybody."

Last weekend, Merseyside Police charged a man with the murder of Joseph Holland in Kent. James Preston, 21, from Huyton, has been charged and is set to appear in court today.

Three men from Huyton, aged 28, 25 and 36, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "A Home Office post mortem has confirmed the cause of death of Joseph Holland, 25, who was found dead in Huyton on Thursday 8 June.

"The post mortem determined the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. Yesterday (Sunday 11 June), detectives charged James Preston, 21, from Huyton, with murder and he is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrate’s Court today."
