Roma manager Jose Mourinho is planning a £25million pursuit for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the summer transfer window - according to reports. Wan-Bissaka has been made available to any interested parties as Erik ten Hag sets about his own Old Trafford rebuild.
Mourinho led the Italians to their first ever European trophy during his first campaign at the helm and, following on from that success, wants to sign Wan-Bissaka as competition for Rick Karsdorp. An update on Wan-Bissaka was first reported by Manchester Evening News after Ten Hag made a decision on Diogo Dalot and his future.
It was, incidentally, former United manager Mourinho who signed Dalot in 2018 before his successor in the hotseat, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, snapped up Wan-Bissaka for close to £50million. Interest from Roma and Mourinho in the one-time Crystal Palace player was reported by Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.

Wan-Bissaka started last campaign as first choice at right-back under Solskjaer before former interim manager Ralf Rangnick opted to give Dalot more game-time as the season wore on. Palace are understood to be tracking him, as well, amid suggestions Wan-Bissaka could be sold for around £25million.
He still has two years to run on his Old Trafford contract.
Elsewhere, the club remain heavy favourites to sign Benfica sensation Darwin Nunez this summer - despite several other Premier League sides being in the market for his services. Nunez, 22, scored 34 goals across the competitions last term from 41 appearances.
A fee around the £80million mark has been mooted due to Benfica holding a 20 per cent sell-on clause. Nunez has Tottenham and Saudi-backed Newcastle monitoring his situation and the Uruguayan himself previously suggested he would prefer moving to a club who have secured Champions League qualification.
However, the latest from transfer expert Rudi Galetti suggests Old Trafford would be his preferred destination. Ten Hag and United want to sign a versatile attacking option this summer window.
